David’s March Update

Now we are in to Spring and our cars are back out on the monthly club runs and our
entries are posted for all the summer one-off and special runs and shows. This month our
run is on Sunday 16th with details to members nearer the date.

The year looks very busy with several new events to try as well as established ones. Sometimes we join with other areas for our monthly run, at the same time offering our support to those organisers and
clubs. Other events we visit as individuals, enjoying the run to a different part of the country. Within this busy schedule we all have to plan and take our own special trips. This spring we have members exploring various parts of Britain, some are touring Spain and Portugal, other members will be driving to Southern Italy and making contact with MGOC members in that country. What a wonderful network of international contacts is provided through the MGOC. When planning a club weekend away do club organisers consider tapping in to the local knowledge of the specific area club, even to obtain information on accommodation, sights or venues to visit? Also when travelling abroad it is always
comforting to know of a sympathetic contact if things go wrong with the car.

Thinking of MG motoring events we in Louth have the details for entry for the 29th Viking Run. Details
and application forms on our website. This year our finishing venue is the 8 sailed Heckington Windmill. Entry includes a tour of the Mill which also has a visitor centre, tea room and brewery, plus gardens, picnic area, on-site bakehouse and museum. A perfect day out for everyone. However, this year our numbers will be restricted so ensure you have your entry in quickly.
