Welcome to the Louth MG Owners Club
We are a community of MG and classic car owners based in Louth, Lincolnshire. Originally founded in 1991 by Alan Low, the club aimed to help and assist members with any problems they encountered.
The Club’s History
In 1991 Alan Low bought his MGB Roadster. With the help of the Grimsby MG Owners Club he formed the Louth MG Owners Club.
In the early days of the club the aim was just to help and assist members with any problems that they encountered. The club now embraces owners in the area who have any make of classic car, not just an MG.
Starting in 1995, with the aim of raising money for charity, the club’s first annual Viking Run was held where club members and anyone else who would like to participate drive from Louth to an interesting destination including Lincoln Castle, Heckington Windmill and many more. Find out more about the Viking Runs here.
In 2016 the club relocated from the Louth Golf Club to The Brackenborough Hotel, Cordeaux Corner, louth LN11 0SZ It was also agreed that meetings would be on the 1st Monday of the month at 7.30pm.

Simon's June Update
As I write this during the heatwave in late May, Summer seems to have come early, although officially we are still in Spring as Summer is only supposed to start on the 21st June! Nevertheless, we are looking forward to exciting and busy events in the months ahead.
On the 5th May we welcomed Tony and Gordon from the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes (LEBBS), who gave us an insight into their voluteer services providing Blood and Medical supplies to our local hospitals for critical patients. One of our chosen charities this year, Blood Bikes receive no funding from
Government or the NHS, relying solely on donations from organisations and the general public.
On the 17th May, 9 members gathered at Brigg Garden Centre for breakfast followed by a 42 mile Run organised by Ian and Sue through some pretty villages to the Abbey Lodge Inn near Woodhall Spa for an excellent lunch.
Looking forward to the 1st June, Richard and Michelle will entertain us with some of their experiences into MG ownership.
On the 7th some members are attending the Louth Lions Classic Car Show, meeting at the Brackenborough Hotel for coffee then travelling together to the Show Ground.
The Annual BBQ on Sunday 20th June is being held at David and Judi's home - always has a fun Raffle to add to the charity 'Pot' so bring your items along and some 'pennies' for the Draw.
The 12th July, is of course, our 30th Annual Viking Car Run to the Dogdyke Pumping Station where the 1856 beam engine will be in steam - entry details are on the website Louthmgoc.co.uk/events/viking-run-2026.
Have a really good Summer - we look forward to seeing you at some of our events - you will be made most welcome.
Simon's May Update
Spring seems to have arrive at last. After a mix of sunny spells one day and wind and rain the next herre in Lincolnshire, we are looking forward to the summer getting out and about enjoying our cars. Unfortunately, our speaker at our March meeting, Nathan-the-Headlamp Man, was unable to join us through illnes, but we hope to welcome him later in the year. We had a most enjoyable run out on the 22nd March, starting at Uncle Henry's for coffee, with 15 people attending in 8 cars, then travelling to Skendleby for ann excellent lunch.
In May we are to have a presentation by Neville Wright of the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes, an emergency service by volunteer bikers providing urgent medical items delivered to our local hospitals. Neville is to bring his bike for us to look at the equipment carried with it.
Plans for our 30th annual Viking Run on Sunday 12th July in aid of our local charities are progressing and we are planning to start from the Brakenborough Hotel, finishing at the Dogdike Pumping Station in Tattershall. Limited to 60 cars (not just MGs) we have exclusive use of the site, with the 1856 Steam Beam Engine in steam pumping water from the land into the River Witham. Entries are coming in now so please get yours in quickly - louthmgoc.co.uk/events/viking-run-2026. We hope this awful war in Iran will end soon and fuel prices stabilise enabling us to enjoy our cars to the full. Drive safely - we hope to see you again soon.
