The Viking Runs
In 1995 the Louth MG Owners Club committee took the momentous decision to try and hold their first rally with the aim of raising money a local charity.
The first Viking Run attracted about 50 entrants who started at the Royal Oak Inn at Little Cawthorpe (known locally as The Splash and traveled part of the way following the Viking Way to finish at the Petwood Hotel (home to the RAF Dambusters Squadron in WWII) in Woodhall Spa and was enjoyed by all entrants from the word go. The committee decided to make it an annual event and of course, the now well known name “The Viking Run” was launched
Over the years, there have been many different and interesting finish destinations including Lincoln Castle, heckington Windmill, Thorpe Camp, Woodhall Spa, East Kirkby, Doddington Hall and the International Bomber Command Centre Lincoln. There is a complete list of finish venues below.
Donations to Various Causes
Since our first Viking Run back in 1995 the Louth MG Owners Club has been able to make an annual donation to a chosen cause.
From 1995 to 2020, we supported the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Appeal (Charities Commission Number 1017501).
In 2022, the decision was made to change the charity each year to support 2 local charities. This year’s viking run will support “Sophies Journey” (Registered Charity No 1168194) and We’ll Meet Again (Registered Charity No. 1176638).

It is through the generosity of all the people that have taken part in the Annual Viking Classic Car Run since its inception in 1995 that we have been able to raise so much for this very worthwhile cause. With your valued support we are continuing to raise money to keep this much needed extra finance going to worthy causes which you the members choose.
On behalf of all the Club members and everyone associated with the Viking Run and the charities we support,
Thank You!
