Simon’s June Update

As I write this during the heatwave in late May, Summer seems to have come early, although officially we are still in Spring as Summer is only supposed to start on the 21st June! Nevertheless, we are looking forward to exciting and busy events in the  months ahead.

On the 5th May we welcomed Tony and Gordon from the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes (LEBBS), who gave us an insight into their voluteer services providing Blood and Medical supplies to our local hospitals for critical patients. One of our chosen charities this year, Blood Bikes receive no funding from
Government or the NHS, relying solely on donations from organisations and the general public.

On the 17th May, 9 members gathered at Brigg Garden Centre for breakfast followed by a 42 mile Run organised by Ian and Sue through some pretty villages to the Abbey Lodge Inn near Woodhall Spa for an excellent lunch.

Looking forward to the 1st June, Richard and Michelle will entertain us with some of their experiences into MG ownership.

On the 7th some members are attending the Louth Lions Classic Car Show, meeting at the Brackenborough Hotel for coffee then travelling together to the Show Ground.

The Annual BBQ on Sunday 20th June is being held at David and Judi’s home – always has a fun Raffle to add to the charity ‘Pot’ so bring your items along and some ‘pennies’ for the Draw.

The 12th July, is of course, our 30th Annual Viking Car Run to the Dogdyke Pumping Station where the 1856 beam engine will be in steam – entry details are on the website Louthmgoc.co.uk/events/viking-run-2026.

Have a really good Summer – we look forward to seeing you at some of our events – you will be made most welcome.
